Oh, Sangria. How you make my heart full. It seems odd National Sangria Day is celebrated on December 20th, considering Sangria is thought of as a summer drink. However, with sweet fruit and dry red wine it’s lush, smooth, refreshing and boozy… and enjoyable all year round!
Sangria is absurdly forgiving, you can add any type of fruit or wine you would like...
On this day in 1933, the 21st Amendment was ratified marking the end of prohibition.
Today we raise a glass in celebration of the end of this tumultuous time in history and pay homage to the brave souls that pushed this through congress to see the end of the ban on alcohol in the US.
When everyone gets home tonight, pour yourselves a nice glass of vino, mix a manhattan or crack a beer in celebration of one of the greatest decisions the American people have made, and the end of one of the weirdest times our country has seen!
Thanksgiving is here! It’s the time for family and the time for feasting. Finding a wine or several wines to serve for Thanksgiving dinner can be a daunting task. Not only do you want to please your dinner guests, but you want it to complement the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, and other traditional parts of the mealRead More
What's your favorite wine party?
It's Taco Tuesday! Personally, I could eat tacos every day of the week. In fact, if you ask me what one food I would choose to eat if stranded on an island it would be tacos. And there would be an avocado tree on said island, as well. I LOVE TACOS! So much so, I was thrilled to see National Taco Day 2016 happens to fall on Taco TuesdayRead More
It's our favorite time of year: Harvest! There is just something magical about it...

Our belief is in drinking what you like. But what if you don’t know what exactly you like? Sometimes we find a brand or particular wine that suits our tastes, so we stick with that particular wine. There are wine consumers out there who consider themselves “wine snobs” and have palates able to discern particular flavors in the wines. They know what they like and are able to navigate a wine list without hesitation. What if you’re not one of those people?
It's International Bacon Day! Let's be honest, I would celebrate bacon every day if I didn't value my arteries so much. I would like to think everyone loves bacon, but I did date a guy one time who didn't just dislike bacon, but hated it with a vengeanceRead More
Today is National Pinot Noir Day! We have no idea who comes up with these national "holidays", but we love all the wine themed days throughout the year. As if we need an excuse to sip on wine with dinner most days of the year! The thin-skinned, temperamental and delicate varietal of Pinot Noir holds a special place in all of our hearts...
With the 2016 Summer Olympics in full swing, we thought we would round up the top medal winning wines to enjoy while watching the games. Based on recent wine competitions and publication accolades, here are the standings on the Sean Minor Family of Wines...
We had the opportunity to host our New York distributor team in the valley last Friday. Without a tasting room, we entertained them at the Carneros Inn on the hilltop patio, where we tasted some wines and noshed on charcuterie and artisan cheeses. The weather was perfect and the views even better!
It’s National Ice Cream Soda Day! I consider myself a connoisseur of all things ice cream and although national food holidays are sometimes silly (who comes up with these?), I can definitely get behind anything involving ice cream. I am also a huge fan of Sangria on a hot summer day, but sometimes the time it takes to prep and wait for the sangria to be ready isn’t conducive to a quick refreshing summer libation

As we fire up the barbecue heading into the Fourth of July weekend, many an American will crack open a beer; but those among us who'd rather toast our patriotism with wine need look no further than "our" grape: zinfandel.
H. Mynors Old Vine Cuvée 2013, Sonoma, Amador, Lodi, CA
From the Sean Minor group of wines comes this homage to Mr. Minor's ninth great-grandfather. With 15 percent alcohol (zinfandel is known for packing a powerful alcohol punch) this little powerhouse brings all the flavor for which zin is loved. Ripe red fruit and spices including black pepper and a bit of oak make this the bff of my Kansas City style ribs.Read More
Love seeing our wine bags rolling around Texas with our Pioneer sales reps!
If you are a fan of our Sean Minor Carneros Pinot Noir, you may be wondering where it has gone. You will now find the 2013 vintage has transitioned to Sonoma Coast on the label, but rest assured the same Carneros fruit has been blended with excellent fruit from the Russian River Valley creating a beautiful Pinot Noir.
Our mission at Sean Minor Wines has always been to produce appellation-focused wines that represent an extreme value to our consumers, accounts and wholesalers. We strive to exceed expectations with the quality of our wines, and the transition of appellation on the Sean Minor Pinot Noir was a decision we feel confident meets this goal.

Traveling with the family yesterday and our flight was late out of San Francisco, so we missed our connection in New York. We ended up having to spend the night in NYC, but made the best of it and were out and about in NY till 3am! It is the city that never sleeps, after all. Back at the airport this morning and what a great surprise to find they serve our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay at all the venues in the Newark airport.Read More
