Coffee Cake

Fill the house with the best-smelling and best-tasting coffee cake! It’s an ideal choice for a breakfast or a cozy brunch that will leave everyone wanting more.

This delightful coffee cake features layers of tender cake and a cinnamon and nut topping. Paired with a steaming cup of coffee, this irresistible combination will become a morning staple.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

     

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp soda

     

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions

Mix all together and take 3/4 cup out and set aside for the topping.
Add 1/2 cup chopped pecans and 1 tsp cinnamon to it for later use.

Add to the remaining batter:

  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Mix until smooth and pour into a greased 9×13 pan
Sprinkle the topping on top and bake at 325 for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
