plate of bacon praline

The ultimate sweet and salty bite—perfect as a side, snack, or party appetizer.

This Bacon Praline recipe is the perfect sweet and savory treat that works any time of day. Serve it as a bold brunch side, a crowd-pleasing party snack, or even a late-night bite. With crispy bacon, caramelized brown sugar, and a touch of heat, it’s a salty-sweet combo you’ll crave again and again.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb applewood smoked bacon
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c finely chopped pecans
  • 1 t kosher salt, pepper
  • dash cayenne

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, nuts, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Set aside.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil (the edges are important to catch the grease). Place a metal cooling rack on top.

Lay the bacon slices side by side on the rack in a single layer. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the brown sugar mixture onto each slice.

Bake for 15–25 minutes, or until the bacon is browned and crisp but not burned.

Using a spatula, transfer the bacon to a clean pan or plate to cool for about 5 minutes. Serve warm.

These can be made ahead: cook, refrigerate, and reheat in a hot oven before serving.
For appetizer portions, cut the bacon in half before baking.
