I didn't even realize the nutty spread had it's own day until about an hour ago. I'm nuts for Peanut Butter! My favorite thing to feed our kids in the morning is waffles with peanut butter. Even our dog, Bodie, loves peanut butter...

So, I started thinking about Peanut Butter and wine pairings. I generally go for a riesling or Gewurtraminer with spicy Thai food, which so often includes peanuts. Then I started looking at recipes. Besides the standard PB&J and PB and Waffles, I suspected there may be some other interesting PB pairings.

Looking through countless peanut butter recipes, including African Peanut Butter Soup, I recalled a burger I had some time ago at Samuel Horne's Tavern in Folsom, CA. It sounded crazy, was named the Nutcase and included peanut butter, thick cut applewood smoked bacon, a thick slice of white onion, a juicy delicious burger, and melted jack cheese. I had to try it and it was worth every calorie and clogged artery. Holy smokes, bacon AND peanut butter? Delicious.

Somehow my quest for PB (and now apparently bacon) brought me to this Papawow blog post from 2009. This could be the most perfect sandwich ever created - A BLT with Peanut Butter. The author, Dave Koch, states when he was a kid "peanut butter was the condiment of choice" on BLT's - what a lucky kid! Knowing how much I loved the Nutcase burger, I have to agree this could be the most amazing BLT in the history of BLT's. But you should read his tips for making this sandwich before trying it!

I am going to try this as soon as I can. I plan to pair it with our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. I think the smooth richness and soft tannins, will compliment this epic sandwich perfectly.

Be sure to check out Papwow for their humorous blog on food with delicious recipes and mouth watering pictures:

Why do I always find these posts at lunch time? These look delicious. I love corn dogs, reminds me of the State Fair.

Check out Rampant Cuisine's recipe and blog on home made mini corn dogs, with spicy mustard.
It's a really cool blog because it's genuine, real people talking about their experiences with things they are passionate about. Be sure to check it out and connect with them on Facebook and Twitter:

Pleasant, SC

It must be lunch time, because this picture made my mouth water!

Browsing my daily news feeds this picture caught my eye from an article in The Charleston City Paper online and I clicked through to read more. According to author Eric Doksa, Vino Burgerz, Mt. Pleasant, SC, pairs each of their delectable burgers with a certain style of wine and beer, not specific vintages or brands. As I was salivating at the description of each burger, I was pleasantly surprised to find this:

"This vegetarian-friendly burger was fresh and full of flavor, but the pairing with Sean Minor Sauvignon Blanc made it even better. The Sean Minor was not too sweet, showcasing subtle flavors of melon and pear, with a bit of effervescence. A perfect complement to the earthy, yet sweet portobello."

Anyway, don't take my word for it - read the review! And if you are in the Charleston area be sure to stop in and try one of the Vino Burgerz and let us know what you think. We hear they are the best in town.

I learned about this initiative during my South Dakota trip a couple weeks ago. I have always taken pride with our family/independent business working with other family/independent businesses. This just emphasizes the importance of patronage to locally owned businesses. Check it out; everyone’s effort will go a long way. Cheers!

The other day my wife Nicole's friend found puppies abandoned by the side of a busy two lane highway and managed to save one. Nicole brought the puppy home to foster and bathe until we could find a good home for her, our 4 Bears named her LuLu. Well, it didn't take long.... Danica in our office took her home the same day and she is happy at home with her new family. She has been coming to the office and is a great new addition to the 4 Bears Winery Family. Bodie is very curious about this new addition to the winery, and feeling a bit jealous...

Bodie is also apparently a lap dog.

I wore purple today in honor of our beloved Sacramento Kings. Long before my
time with Sean Minor Wines I worked for one of the nicest guys in the NBA, Vlade
Divac. I have great memories from those years and the Kings will always hold a
special place in my heart.

Sean Minor actually hired me away, with the Divac’s blessing, and that’s how
I eventually ended up here. The winery is headquartered in Sacramento where we
all live.

This evening when I left our Sac “Central Command Annex” the eldest of the 4
Bears was outside with his friends. I asked N if he was wearing a purple shirt
for the Kings, to which he replied, with refreshingly candid honesty for a 15
year old, “well, I wore it for a girl…” Either way, I hope the Kings stay.
Seeing all the tweets today and pics of businesses lit up in purple made me
proud to be a part of this community!

Cheers, Danica @danicarat

Still looking for the perfect wine for your Easter table? Look no further...
Our 2010 Vin Gris of Pinot Noir - Carneros (limited production) is the perfect
choice. Sean uses the classic saignée method to produce this delicious wine,
allowing juice to remain in contact with the Pinot Noir fruit before it is
“bled” from the tank prior to fermentation and inoculated on its own.
The resulting wine is fermented dry developing its pink color, aromatics
and bright fruit flavors (Sean's winemaker tasting notes). This Vin Gris is versatile with all kinds of foods
and perfect on a sunny spring day! We even drink it around here...

As 2010 is coming to a close, we have been reflecting on this past year and
can’t believe it’s almost over!

It seems in a blink of the eye our winery has grown, with our wines available
in almost 40 states and more expansion to come in early 2011. We recently were
looking at the pictures of our family on our website, which were taken in 2005,
marveling at how much our Four Bears, like the winery, have grown in just the
past five years.

With all this change around us, we still love what we do and we feel very
grateful for the opportunity to share our passion with you. As we continue to
grow we remain true to our mission to produce wines of exceptional quality that
exceed your expectations. We are so thankful for our loyal customers and we
appreciate your tremendous support and encouragement.

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season, and health and happiness in the
New Year!

In the spirit of holiday traditions around the world, here is a recipe for a
winter drink sure to keep you warm:

Mulled Wine

Ingredients:
2 bottles dry red wine (Sean Minor 4 Bears Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot, and/or Pinot Noir)

4 ounces port or brandy
12 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
1 large
orange, zested

Directions: Combine ingredients in a large pot and bring to a simmer. Do not

Especially when we receive photos like this one. Our #1 fans in Providence, Rhode Island, and friends, The Gunns, have stocked their holiday cellar just right!

Now I am just wondering why the weather looks so beautiful and sunny in Rhode Island while we are getting hit with a huge storm in Northern California. Go figure.

Then, we will speak with Michael Browne, co-owner of Kosta Browne Winery, which produces intense, flavorful Pinot Noir. P. Carey Alumni Spotlight

Featuring: Sean Minor ’88

W. P. Carey alumnus Sean Minor ’88, along with his wife Nicole Fregosi Minor ’89, are the founders and owners of Four Bears Winery and Sean Minor Wines. The couple stated that their perspective of ASU has progressed from “we went to ASU” to “we are proud graduates of Arizona State University!”

Both Sean and Nicole attribute their success to the strong foundations instilled in them during their time as undergraduates. Heavily involved in campus life, Sean shared that he had the opportunity to gain leadership experiences that helped him to overcome his shyness and opened the doors for professional opportunities.

Additionally, Sean believes that the classes in entrepreneurship, marketing and business analysis had a significant and real world application. Specifically, the mandatory upper division marketing class allowed Sean to not only work in a cross functional team but also to hone his talents in developing forward thinking strategies – skills heavily relied upon in his business operations.

Compelled by the spirit of entrepreneurialism, Sean and Nicole founded Four Bears Winery and Sean Minor Wines in 2005. They are all about family and named the business for their four children: Nick, Elle, Jack and Charlie. Starting the winery was both a professional and personal dream. After a number of years in the industry, Sean knew there had to be an affordable way to produce great wines at an affordable price. The initial production featured a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Central Coast Chardonnay, and Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc. Wine selections have grown to include the Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley Merlot, and a Napa Valley Carneros Pinot Noir.

For today’s W. P. Carey student, Sean and Nicole offer this advice: “Concentrate on being well-rounded! Be involved. The size of ASU is a benefit in that it offers something for everyone. Learn to manage multiple priorities and prepare for doing well with a variety of tasks. The world does not function in a single dimension and neither should you!” “Don’t be afraid to fail. Putting yourself on the line is worth the risk. Practice humility…realize you are not the smartest person in the room…only then can you learn from others.”

meeting new people and reconnecting with friends. Not only was it our first
local dinner, but it was also the inaugural wine dinner for the restaurant. As
Chef Adam Pechal recently recalled, "it sold out in about five minutes!" The
food and wine pairings were outstanding. really fantastic! I decreased the baking time to 18 minutes and used Pam instead
of oil...trying to keep up the New Year's resolution. Delicious and
very healthy....especially the wine for my heart. Wish all my dinners were this

We also posted two
new recipes in our blog. The first is Nicole's recipe for Asparagus
Soup served either hot or cold and perfectly paired with our Sauvignon

Once again, we are expanding our distribution throughout the US! We mentioned
in our November newsletter our new representation in New York and New Jersey by

working on expanding into Pennsylvania and Connecticut, and possibly Florida,
too. We will keep you posted as we continue to expand our
distribution!

On the road again

I've spent the first few months of 2010 traveling throughout the U.S. selling
our wines and it doesn't look like I will be slowing down for at least a few
more months. My favorite thing about being out in the different markets is
hearing feedback from our satisfied customers.

Nicole and I spent the first week of February in New York City kicking off
the Sean Minor 4 Bears brand with our new distributor Polaner Selections. Wow, we
love NYC! I went to an incredible account for dinner called Co.(pronounced Company)- 230 9th Ave -
fantastic artisan pizza! They just started pouring our Sauvignon Blanc by the
glass. I had the good fortune to try the Meatball pizza and the Honshimeji &
Guanciale pizza... crazy delicious crust, really good! I enjoyed the atmosphere,
great crust and great staff/service - a must have in NYC!

I also spent some time in Arizona with our new distributor, Quail Distributing.
They are doing an excellent job getting our brand out there in the short time
they have been representing our wines. For those of you in Arizona you can view
our list of AZ accounts by city (both restaurants and retailers) who carry
Sean Minor 4 Bears wines. One account in particular, Fat Cat
in Chandler, is pouring all five of our wines by the glass! They just recently
opened and you can read more about them in the First

Great support and kudos to Arizona!

I spent the first week of March in Kansas. Our distributor, LDF, is rocking
with our brand. Our wines are everywhere! We did a wine tasting at JP Wine Bar in Leawood where they
expected approximately 40 patrons to attend. The actual number of guests who
attended was more than double that figure! We also held a tasting at Yia Yia's Euro Bistro
in Wichita and had a great turn out. Unbelievable representation in my home
state, keep up the good work Kansas!
Reviews
San Francisco Chronicle results are
in and we scored silvers across the board. The wine competition season is upon
us and we are gearing up to submit our wines for review at several of the major
competitions. We also recently received 87 points on our 2007 Napa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon from the Wine Spectator and were featured as a daily wine
pick in the Under $20 category.

Featured Accounts

We would like to highlight Heritage Wine Company in Pasadena, CA. They are a family owned business, just like us, and they carry our wines! I did a wine tasting in their shop last July and they have since turned several of their customers onto Sean Minor 4 Bears and we have heard nothing but excellent things about them. Thank you Heritage Wine Co.!

We also received a tip from one of our loyal Sean Minor 4 Bears fans letting
us know Green Restaurant at Fort Mason
in San Francisco is carrying three of our wines! Green Restaurant was built in
1979 and helped establish vegetarian cuisine in the ranks of fine dining
restaurants in the United States. Their wine list emphasizes small high-quality
producers from the West Coast and Europe. We are proud to be included and
thankful for their support!

If you have a favorite account you frequent, let us know! We would be happy
to include them in our newsletter and Facebook page.

Events

We recently had the pleasure of presenting our wines to the Heritage Park
Wine Club in Natomas. Not only was the community and clubhouse beautiful, but we
really enjoyed meeting their Wine Club members and appreciated having the
opportunity to showcase our wines. Thanks to the Heritage Park Wine Club for
inviting us to be their featured winery!

We will be participating in Sierra

elegant affair has become a must-attend event in Placer County and the proceeds
have enabled the foundation to do extraordinary things for Sierra College. If
you live in the area and would like to attend please click HERE to

Roseville for including us in this prestigious event!

This is always an exciting time of year! Spring brings warmer weather and
longer days. The vines have awoken from their winter slumber and grow almost in
front of your eyes. Spring is also a time for new releases from Sean Minor
Wines: Four Bears, which is always an exciting part of the wine making process.
It's like introducing a new family member! We will keep you posted on our
upcoming wine releases, events and happenings around the winery. In the
meantime, we would love to hear from you! Send us your thoughts, questions and
comments at info@4bearswinery.com!

He picked
up a bottle of our 2008 Sean Minor Four Bears Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma County
and shared this recipe with us. We thought we would pass it along to all of you
to enjoy!

"Last night I prepared Moroccan spiced game hen with couscous, a veg medley,
and olive bread. This was artfully enjoyed with one of the most AMAZING
Sauvignon Blancs I've ever experienced, thanks to your skillfull mastery of some
Sonoma grapes!! I LOVED IT!! Whoo-hoo!! I'm one happy camper, so thanks for all
your help in getting me introduced to 4B!! Consider me hooked!"

Although it can be altered, this is what I prepared for Moroccan Game Hen,
which I was very happy with:
2 Game Hens (can be either rotisseried, or
spatchcocked flat for the grill)
1 Grated Onion
2 Tbs chopped fresh
Italian parsley
2 Tbs chopeed fresh cilantro
3 Tbs fresh lemon juice
2
Tbs olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp hot
paprika
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp white pepper
Combine everything
and whisk to mix, then add hens, cover and marinate for 8 hours. Then grill for
16-22 mins, alternating med and hot sides of grill on both sides.

for the Moroccan veg w/ couscous, I used a recipe I found on
Epicurious:
http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Quick-Moroccan-Vegetable-Couscous-1194

-Steve, Salt Lake City, UT

If you try out this recipe let us know what you think! A big thanks to Steve
for giving us the opportunity to please his palate.

Cheers,

asparagus trimmed, 2 idaho potatoes, 2 quarts chicken broth, 1 log of goat
cheese (ok that sounds the best!!) sweat vegies 8-10 min, then add asparagus
stalks 2-3 minutes (leave tips off to side), add potatoes and stock, season and
bring to boil, then simmer 20 min.

Bring separate pot of salted water to boil, add asparagus tips 2-3 minutes,
remove them and place in ice water, when they are cooled pat them dry and
reserve to side.

In a blender, puree asparagus stock mixture, strain and adjust taste with
seasoning. CHILL or have HOT

Garnish soup with tips and goat cheese! It is terrific! And looks so
gourmet!!

Cheers,

New Releases

We are pleased to announce the release of our 2007
Napa Valley Merlot! We just started shipping this new vintage in
October and it is tasting great. The wine displays lush aromas and silky flavors
of ripe black cherry, plum and mocha. On the palate the wine demonstrates those
same fruit flavors with an integrated mid-pallet of sweet oak and tannins that
offer a lingering and full finish. We also just released our 2007
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2008
Carneros Pinot Noir just in time for the holidays.
Be sure to check our website for all the latest releases. The 2007 Napa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby in color and displays aromas of ripe cherry,
cassis and blackberry fruit. Flavors of blackberries and raspberries combined
with hints of savory spices coat the palate. The soft tannins and sweet oak
balance lead to a long and lingering finish. The 2008 Napa Valley Carneros Pinot
Noir is medium-bodied with blueberry, cherry, plum and light toast flavors. On
entry, the wine displays blue fruit characters that are balanced with the
lingering spicy/earthy notes. The vanilla and toast nuances integrate well with
the silky round tannins which evolve into a lengthy finish.
breakfast items -- a goat cheese and red pepper frittata and Welsh rabbit -- and
creatively paired them with our 2006 Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc. I enjoyed
the post and was inspired to think of other breakfast items that would pair with

Down? All around?

It's easy to assume that in spite of economic woes, unemployment and other
less than fortunate circumstances we see in our world today, alcohol sales may
be the only growing statistic as we battle through these tough times. Many say
the reason is that people turn to wine and spirits to drown their sorrows,
others say that instead of going out for a night on the town many are turning to
evening spent with friends and family, sipping their favorite drinks instead of
ordering them from the bartenders. We found an interesting discussion weighing
both sides over at Fermentation-

Is the real question, also touched on by Fermentation, about SALES NUMBERS
actually increasing or simply the AMOUNT OF TRANSACTIONS? Are people actually
SPENDING MORE per visit or are MORE PEOPLE buying wine and spirits these days
because they have the time to kill. Either way it's an interesting debate and we
wonder what you all have to say about the matter.

Are you spending more time at home instead of going out these days? More
bottles and board games than nights out on the town?

Here at Sean Minor- we're still working to get you the best wines for the
lowest price and we look forward to continuing what we set out to do from the
very beginning.

thirty nights. We aren't building the ark quite yet but we have started
selecting our rations - wine & food. Thank goodness I am married to an
Italian that knows how to cook because tonight's adventure in the kitchen was
perfect on a cold and rainy night. You can enjoy this hearty soup with our Sean
Minor Four Bears 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon or any red wine with
good acidity and well integrated tannins. Nicole doesn't really measure, but
this is what I got from the conversation:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heat 2 TBL olive oil

Brown 3 Italian sausages in 1 inch rounds (mild or hot, whichever you
prefer)

Add 1/2 chopped yellow onion, cook till transparent

Add 3 cloves garlic (diced)

Add 1/2 cup of each, chopped carrots, chopped celery, chopped asparagus
(really any great veggie in the fridge)

Add 1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley

1 TBL diced fresh rosemary

Salt and pepper to taste

After those are incorporated (5 minutes or so) De-glaze the pot with 1/2 cup
of red wine

Add 1 can of diced tomatoes

Add 3 cups chicken broth (she made it from the leftover COSTCO roasted
chicken, yum!)

Add 1/2 cup water (if you need to make the homemade stock go further)

Heat and then add 6 ounces of cheese tortellini (can be frozen), let it cook
30 minutes and serve.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This made enough for 6 people, don't forget some warm bread for soaking up
the broth!!

Cheers, Sean

reading some recent wine articles I came across a great article by Chris Macias with the
Sacramento Bee. It reinforces what Sean Minor Wines are all about and
delivers a great message to all: don't worry about not being a word smith and an
expert when it comes to enjoying wine. Just know what you like and venture out
to make it an enjoyable part of your lifestyle and every day meal experience. We
founded our company on these type of principles. After being in the wine
industry over 21 years, we were frustrated with the reality that wines that
actually taste like their varietal, with lots of flavor, mouth feel and depth
typically cost over $30. Check out our beliefs and how
we have made wine to meet them. This great article
delivers and reinforces an important message to all wine consumers. Cheers,
Sean

So much to write about so little time. First stop, Ocean Ave
Seafood in Santa Monica to enjoy the great seafood and view. It never gets
old. Fresh menu and fresh fish every day. An incredible wine list with lots of
great wines to choose from. Off to Palm Springs where we ate at Omri Go Med.
They described themselves as " A contemporary Mediterranean Restaurant featuring
fresh seafood, hand carved meats and home made breads. " Wow, the flavors in the
entree and the service was amazing. You don't expect much as you approach the
restaurant, but you will be amazed at the level of culinary delights they are
creating. Back to LA and down to Orange County - another great tour of fine wine
shops doing their best to introduce wines of all price levels. Check out Amazing Grapes Wine
Store in Rancho Santa Margarita. Down to San Clemente, I haven't been here
in awhile and I forgot how cool this down town is with the historical buildings
just blocks from the beach. Two great wine bars in downtown that have created
distinctly different atmospheres - San Clemente Wine Company and The
Cellar Wine Bar & Cheese Boutique. Check them both out and enjoy all of
their great offerings by the glass! The cheese selection at The Cellar is
amazing.

A long week and a lot of traveled miles, but it's a distant memory with a
great bottle of Sean Minor wine and an ocean view. Cheers, Sean

We make it a dual dinner! The table is set for 6 with lots of Valentine treats, pink and red. When you have a family of 6 it looks like a small party! While the children eat, we sit with them enjoying our glass of Sean Minor: Four Bears Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc while we listen to their Valentine stories from school. We always feast on the family favorite, slow cooked ribs! (recipe follows) This is the one meal we can be certain that everyone will eat. Then the kids leave the table and we light the candles, pour some Sean Minor: Four Bears Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and enjoy our dinner for two. Probably unconventional, but it works for us! We like to be with the kids on this day, a tradition that Nicole had growing up and one we keep going! When it really comes down to it, the children are “our valentines”! Life is good and we have much to be grateful for!

Slow cooked short ribs (serves eight)

6 lbs boneless short ribs (trim fat), slice into 2 inch strips, 1/2 inch thick

16 ounces tomato sauce

1 cup dark brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup soy

2 red onions sliced or coarsely chopped

Get ribs to room temp, salt and pepper and sear in a little oil till brown on all sides. Place them in an ovenproof casserole and add the remaining ingredients, mix thouroughly and bake at 325 for 2 hours, stirring to cover exposed pieces into the sauce. Serve over rice, potatoes or polenta. Delicious!!

shrinking economy. The wine industry historically has been resilient during
recessionary times. Today, wines over $20 seem to be getting hit the
hardest.

Thankfully, Sean Minor Wines: Four Bears Winery, has developed a strong
following and achieved growth over 40% in 2008 as compared to 2007. We are very
grateful for those that have supported our effort to deliver wines that exceed
expectation in terms of price to quality. Our mantra even before the economy
took a header has been very simple: produce wines that over deliver. We must
have struck a chord, because the reviews from wine writers and the wine blogging
world on Sean Minor Wines has been fantastic. Consumers are looking for real
wine values in the market place and we have delivered according to their
reviews. We appreciate those writters recognizing our wines and providing their
expert opinions on each varietal. You can check out some reviews posted on our site or

top wine values for 2008. The list contains 85 total wines from California along
with some strategies to help you choose some wine values in 2009. This is the
fourth time Wine Spectator has featured our Sauvignon Blanc in the last 12
issues. Isn't this a nice start to my week-end. I am thinking some baked cracked

myself away long enough to check out what other wines made the list. Cheers,

Friday was the 75th Anniversary of the Ratification of the 21st Amendment-
the end of prohibition.

Although we're a little late on this post we wanted to briefly raise a glass
in celebration of the end of this tumultuous time in history and do a quick post
to pay homage to brave souls that pushed this one through congress to see the
end of the ban on alcohol in the US.

This whole crazy thing started in the 1840s and quickly died as the American
Civil War carried on- afterall who would ever want a ban on booze during war
time? It began to gain momentum again soon after as the Prohibition Party, lead
by the Women's
Christian Temperance Union, began pushing for the complete prohibition of
alcohol- not the moderation or regulation of the previous prohibition uprisings.
From there the role alcohol played in American politics and everyday life in the
early part of the century would divide the population into two teams- the
"dries" and the "wets." But by January 1917 the wets had won and by December
that same year an amendment to change our constitution was introduced- the
infamous 18th Amendment. This amendment- later known as the Volstead Act was
ratified January 1919, even after President Woodrow Wilson vetoed it, and put
into effect shortly after- backed by some 1500 Federal Prohibition Agents to
enforce it. Bummer.

Bring on the speakeasies, moonshiners and the rule of gangsters in illegal
alcohol sales. Al Capone made it his business of choice and the roaring 20's-
fueled by jazz music, art, social change and major industrialization- roared on
as one of the great times in American History- albeit minus "legal" booze. Even
Jay Gatsby, of F. Scott Fitzgerald's
Great Gatsby and a favorite at Sean Minor, got in on THE PEOPLE'S need for a
nice drink- he's rumored to have made much of his cashola from not-so-legal
alcohol sales. It's also rumored that alcohol, in addition to Zelda Sayre, money
and Princeton, was one of his major influences in Fitzgerald writing some of the
greatest works in American literature.

We lost a lot of great brewers, growers and distillers during this time and
one can only speculate how our lives would be different if wine grapes would not
have been replaced by sub-par grapes and our winemakers wouldn't have left in
search of the next great vine. But can you blame them?

The Great Depression soon hit and prohibition became even more unpopular. By
December 5, 1933 the 18th Amendment had been repealed by the 21st
Amendment. End of story, thank goodness!

When everyone gets home tonight, pour yourselves a nice glass of vino, mix a
manhattan or crack a beer in celebration of one of the greatest decisions the
American people have made, and the end of one of the weirdest times our country
has seen! Coming next- some of our favorites from each discipline of alcohol
cultivation from our family to yours!

it's power to connect people. Here's a great story we came across yesterday from renown wine blogger Alice Feiring via
the Fermentation site.

This
story made us happy all day yesterday and really enforced some of the reasons
why we do what we do at Sean Minor Wines/4 Bears. As we ease into the incredible
depth that is the wine blogosphere, we're finding more and more wonderful
information and shared stories about our industry and the people within it. It's
stuff like this that make us really appreciate providing quality wines to
everyone.

Sean
and I joined wine industry leaders, wine bloggers and new media innovators at
the First Live Wine Blogging event in Northern California. This was an
experience like no other. They called it "speed dating style" and it was just
that... We visited 16 tables in 5 minute increments and presented Sean Minor
Wines;Four Bears to eight bloggers and or wine writers at a time. When the bell
rang, time was up and we were off to the next table to tell our story again.
Meanwhile, computer keys clicking away while bloggers were writing live reviews
on the wines presented. It was the quickest "date" Four Bears has ever been on
and a cutting edge twist into the world of reviews, blogs and media
innovation.

lately. Afterall, from time to time we do manage to peel ourselves away from
tasting and perfecting the Sean Minor vino to enjoy someone else's hard
work!

1. Bucklin Zin - One of Sonoma's oldest Zin
vineyards and a favorite of my wife Nicole and I. Worth checking out if you're
into a super smooth, herbal Zin with a really warm aroma.

2. King Estate Pinot Gris - Organic from
Oregon. Great price and all around great vino. Citrusy, tropical, balanced for
sure.

3. Domaine Serene Pinot Noir
- Easily one of Oregon's best wines and a recent Wine Spectator Top 100. Do not
think twice about this one. Just do it.

4. Widmer Hefeweizen-We just
can't get enough of Oregon it seems. The Widmer Brothers out of Portland really
know their stuff and this beer can pretty much go with anything. When we need a
beer, this is almost always in the fridge.

5. Rogue American Amber Ale -
Smooth, a little roast action, really good with a steak. A 22 oz. is the only
way to go!

6. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale -
A Cali classic- bright as they come, hoppy and a favorite from east to west.
This one is ever-present in our home and hearts.

7. Maker's Mark Kentucky
Bourbon- No matter what we always come back to the bourbon. This one always
makes us feel good inside and makes one hell of a Christmas, birthday or
housewarming gift for a friend or colleague. Our great friends from Kentucky
always brought along a bottle of Maker's to warm us up on a cold winter
night.

8. Cape Codder-
Not necessarily a brand but one to bookmark. My wife's favorite and a sure bet
if you're looking for a tasty cocktail to order your lady. Add a splash of soda
and you're set.

9. The Chipper- This one comes from our long time friend Chip Goodman- who
concocted this classic cocktail, registered it and actually received a drink
patent from those that grant drink patents! Ingredients include; Vodka (the good
stuff), tonic, splash of oj and lime OR you can choose to substitute the tonic
for soda to save calories. This can also be done with grapefruit (the true
original) and is best with fresh squeezed citrus. We joke that you never get a
hangover because the citrus replaces vitamins and there is some good fluid
replacement as well!

Got something to share with the rest of us? Bring it on!
